| Our Facilities Roy Powell has been professionally training horses for nearly 20 years. He has trained many other breeds,and began training gaited horses a number of years ago. He specializes in Mountain Horses, as he appreciates their intelligence, natural gaitedness, gentleness and willingness to be your partner. Green Ridge Stables is a family-run business! Pictured below is Roy on GRS Gunslinger, and his two sons - Hoot on GRS Thimble, a two year old by Apache, and Ronnie on Desparado's Santana.  Santana as a 3 year old.  A group of GRS yearlings.  Green Ridge Stables is nestled in the rolling hills of Kentucky, near Jeffersonville.  Our large barn features large airy oak stalls, a washrack and a 16' ride through. The riding area encircles the entire interior of the barn, so no matter what the weather outside, your horse can still be ridden and trained. The barn, with a 24' peak, is cool in the summer and is well ventilated with 4 large outside doors.
